Use Claude and ChatGPT on the same document
Ask Claude to draft a plan in Monton, then ask ChatGPT to review that same document. Read the feedback on your phone or computer, choose the changes you want, and ask Claude to revise. You keep the draft, passage comments, and revision history together in one online workspace.
Start with a brief, article, or plan you already need. You can bring in a second perspective without copying every new draft between chats.
Connect both assistants to your Monton workspace
Create your account at monton.dev, then follow the guides to connect Claude and ChatGPT. Sign in with the same Monton account for both connections and use the same workspace for this exercise. Follow the ChatGPT setup guide to select Monton in the chat.
You can do this on your own. Invite a teammate when you want their feedback too.
Give Claude a document to draft
If you already have a plan in Monton, use its link for the next step. Otherwise, start from a project you have discussed with Claude and ask:
“Create a document named Project brief in my Monton workspace for the project we have discussed. Include the goal, intended readers, scope, timeline, and how we will know the work is complete. Use the facts we have agreed on and list any unanswered questions. Give me a link to the document.”
Open the brief and check that Claude included the context a reviewer needs. Add any missing facts or constraints in Monton before requesting the review. Both assistants can then work from the same written brief.
If you prefer a sample first, follow the workshop-plan walkthrough, then use that document's link below.
Ask ChatGPT to comment on the same document
In your connected ChatGPT chat, paste the Monton document link and ask:
“Read this document through Monton: [paste the document link]. Review it against its stated goal and constraints. Leave up to three comments on specific passages where the reader needs a clearer decision or instruction. Explain why each suggestion matters. If you find no useful change, say so in the chat. Keep the document text unchanged for now.”
You get feedback beside the passage you need to consider. You can return to that discussion when you revise, rather than search through a separate chat for the recommendation.
Decide what to change from your phone or computer
Open the same document in Monton and read the comments. Reply to the suggestions you want to use, with any conditions the assistant should keep. For example:
“Add the missing acceptance criterion you suggested. Keep the deadline unchanged.”
You can also select another passage, choose Comment, and add your own instruction. Invite a colleague as a commenter if you want their judgment before the revision.
Return to Claude for the revision
Go back to Claude's chat and ask it to act on your decisions:
“Read the review comments and my replies on this Monton document: [paste the document link]. Make the changes I accepted, follow any conditions I added, and leave the rest unchanged. Reply in each relevant thread to explain the change. If my decision is unclear, ask me in that thread before editing.”
Open the document again. Read the revised passages and the replies, then open History to compare the new version with the earlier draft and see who changed what. You can restore an earlier version if you want to return to it.
Keep working in the same document
When you want another review, ask ChatGPT to read the latest version through Monton. Give it a specific question, such as whether the intended reader can now tell what to do next. You can keep inviting feedback and requesting changes as your project develops.
You decide when to ask each assistant to work. Save the relevant facts and decisions in the document so either assistant can use them when you request the next step.
Start a document in Monton. Connect the assistants you already use and try one review and one revision. Monton is free while it is in beta.
